About Typewriter Note

Typewriter Note started as a personal project: a place to write short stories without the friction of a full-blown word processor. Toolbars, templates, formatting menus — all of it got in the way of the one thing that actually mattered, which was writing the next sentence.

The idea was to build something that behaved like a typewriter. No rich formatting, no distractions, just a blank page and a cursor. That constraint turned out to be the whole point: fewer decisions to make while writing leaves more attention for the writing itself.

Today Typewriter Note is still that same idea, just easier to keep running: a minimal, multi-user writing app with tags, a trash bin, dark and light themes, and a focus mode that clears the screen down to just the text.

Minimal by default

Every feature has to earn its place. If it doesn't help you write, it doesn't ship.

Your notes are yours

Isolated per account, exportable to CSV whenever you want, no lock-in.

Built to last

Runs on infrastructure that costs close to nothing to keep alive, so it doesn't have to disappear one day for lack of maintenance.
